1. Wrong paint color

Painters often double check if they have the right colors before they begin with their work. However, there may be instances when the paint bought is not enough and painters have to secure a new batch. It does not happen too often, but sometimes the paint colors of the previous and new paint batches do not match completely. To avoid this, it is highly recommended that owners buy big batches to have a little extra to make sure purchasing another batch won’t be needed.

2. Uneven paint

Painting large structures evenly can be challenging. Painters must always check if all surfaces are evenly painted, that no side is painted darker or lighter than the others. This can be avoided with a little help from technology by integrating softwares and robotics to do the job. This way, no paint is wasted and it is easier to paint larger structures without constantly checking the consistency of the colors.

3. Bad paint jobs

Painting large structures is not just about adding colors to make the structure stand out. The colors must also be mixed and applied properly in order to improve the aesthetics of the structure. A bad paint job will have the opposite effect, or worse completely ruin the beauty of the structure.

The idea was to show painters, CertaPro Painters, painting contractors, and franchise owners, their unique technology which can make the job easier. The machine didn’t really work at this time. It would break down, it would take too long to put together. Despite not really seeing what the product does, they still gave us deposits cheques.

The demand confirmed that business owners are striving for a solution for the labor shortage. They want automated equipment, but Nick and Steve won’t be able to do it with only fifty or a hundred thousand dollars. The pair needed to raise big money and go big. That was the eye-opening of the road show – that there was a demand but it’s gonna take a lot more tech. 

The problem is not one that just painters feel, it is one their customers feel because there aren’t enough good painting companies because of the labor shortage. That’s when we realized we are gonna be the robotics solution provider. We’re going to change the way the industry is made. It’s not selling a widget, it’s robots as a service and direct to the customer. We thought we had a cool little solution for a little problem, and now we realize we’re gonna change the whole industry through robotics painting, by automating the entire industry. 

Using automations and robotics can easily increase the productivity of painters, as it makes the paint jobs easier. By incorporating robotics and engineering, the technology can be fine-tuned to perform beautiful paint jobs without the painters manually checking, repairing, or polishing the work. Painting large structures and spacious rooms will also be much easier and clients won’t have to worry about bad paint jobs.
